Jonathon attended his first church service today. Doesn't he look cute - in his 3-6 month outfit? Yes, that's right, he's one month old and wearing his 3-6 month clothes already. He's almost outgrown his size 1-2 diapers too - AND, believe it or not- He rolled over onto his stomach for the first time yesterday. Its hard to believe how quickly he is growing and changing!

We introduced him to a mirror tonight, and he was mesmerized by his reflexion for about 10 minutes. (Wonder who he gets that from??) He is sucking his thumb just a bit, but not too terribly bad. Hopefully that's one habit that won't stick around for long.

We hope everyone is doing well - we loved seeing everyone during their visits and can't wait until we can see you all again.

Can you guess by this picture how old Jonathon is today? He's one month old today. My...how time flies. What a cute couple, huh?

This is my fist full week back to work since Jonathon was born. I'm finally getting a little routine back. Less sleep, more routine. Augh...who needs sleep?







Look how tight his coming home outfit is on him! He sure is a growing boy.

It hasn't quite been a month and Jonathon is changing so fast. He is starting to smile and show more expressions. It is unbelievable how much he is eating.

I'm back...

It has been way too long since I put up some cute pictures of our adorable little boy. We are adjusting well to our new role of parenthood and I am slowly getting back to keeping in touch with everyone.

Heather and I have the conversation almost daily of, "Does he look more like you or does he look like me?" All we have been able to come up with is, "It depends". If he is looking like this and sleeping good and being nice, then he seems to look like Heather.



If he is being fussy, eating ALL the time and peeing all over the place...then naturally, he seems to look more like me. Either way, he is still as adorable as can be. I think he is looking more like me but Heather is thinking he is looking more like her. Jonathon's hair is getting lighter. Now if he was getting balder...then he would definitely be looking like his daddy.

Today is Jonathon's two week milestone! To celebrate, we have pictures. I know I'm a little biased but he is becoming more photogenic every day.

My mom left to go back to Illinois today. We really enjoyed her visit and it was great to have her help in this transitional period. It is so hard seeing family leave, especially when you don't see them as often as you would like.

There is one sure way to get any grandparent to beam. Put their grandbaby in their arms, and they melt like butter. Or like Cherry Garcia ice cream? I introduced Mom to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream and I think I gave her my addiction...that gene must run in our family:)

Jonathon is changing so fast already. We've been looking at his newborn pictures and see such a vast difference after only eight days. It seems that he is eating more and more. Move over Ma-maw...I have a new eating partner!!! Jonathon is going to give me a run for my money.




Speaking of Ma-maw and Pa-paw, they left to go back home today. It was so nice to see them. It was very hard to say goodbye for all of us. They mean so much to Heather and me. We think that they have now found their inspiration to fly now! Jonathon!!!

Time for Mommy to post! I just had to take a minute to brag on Jonathon's wonderful daddy. I think I would have lost it by now if it weren't for him... Feeding Jonathon occupies about 90% of my time right now, but Russ has been such an amazing help-- I haven't missed one shower!

I read a quote once, although I don't recall who it said/wrote it. I think it said:

"Small boys become big men through the influence of big men who care about small boys."


I think Jonathon will become a big, big man through the loving care of his father. I am so blessed and so thankful to have these these two wonderful men in my life!!

We have more pictures posted! Jonathon had a check up today and his jaundice is doing good. He's growing and getting more handsome every day. Ma-maw swears he's trying to talk to her already. We gave him his first bath last night and last night was the first night that I received a spray from Jonathon. It brought a good laugh. No pictures though:)

Thanks to everyone for your comments, phone calls and vistis. It is so nice to talk to friends and family at such an exciting time in our lives.

Jonathon is doing great. He's been eating ALL THE TIME...The pediatrician checked Jonathon today and they are keeping up with his jaundice. Looks good but they just want to stay on top of it. He's been a good sleeper so far and we are trying to heed the advice of "sleep when the baby sleeps".

I'll be posting some more pictures tonight. Be on the lookout for them. What does everyone think of the coming home outfit? At this point, no matter what Jonathon is wearing, he looks like a real champ!
