How old are you really?

Jonathon doesn't look 9 weeks does he? He is growing up so fast, right under our eyes. The older he gets, the more Heather and I are convinced he looks like Ma-maw and the Frasure side. Heather says that he reminds her of Poppy Frasure which was Heather's great-grandfather.

Burr...Dad, I'm cold but I'm cute too, huh?
We got him all dressed up in his mittens and hat for the cold, snowy day we had this past week. Or wait, was that when we ran out of heating oil? Old age is creeping in and I'm forgetting everything! Yea...some days, I feel so young playing and goofing around with Jonathon. On the other hand there are other days I feel twice my age. I guess too many late nights and early morning feedings. Ahh...but I enjoy every second!

It looks like Jonathon is going to be a natural entertainer. Our church had a baby dedication for him yesterday. Once we got done with the ceremony, the pastor asked the congregation to welcome us to the community with a round of applause. When they started to clap, Jonathon's head poked right up and he started looking around everywhere. He had a look of "Is this clapping for me?" He had everyone smiling and laughing.

He is now eight weeks old and growing faster than ever. As the poll suggests, he is looking every bit like Heather. I think Heather has been trying to butter up to me lately (maybe for Christmas:). For the last couple of days she has been telling me how much Jonathon is looking like me. Of course I soak it up every time. If she keeps it up, she is going to be pleasantly surprised at Christmas time. There is nothing better (up till now) then seeing your little boy look up at you and giving you the biggest smile or the biggest laugh. Hey, I don't mind if he's smiling or laughing AT me...I'll still take it, any way - any day!

We hope everyone is having a good Thanksgiving. Last night, we got our first real snow of the season. In all, it was about 6 inches. We have had a few dustings but this one was enough to break out the snow shovel.

This being Jonathon's first Thanksgiving, he has been all smiles. It has been so nice having an extra day playing with him and making faces with him. He has been pretty easy to entertain. All I need to do is make faces that look like Heather and he just laughs up a storm! Just kidding...I'm just kidding:)

We do wish we could be with all our families for the holidays. We are so happy though that we can still keep in touch through this blog and the webcam.

Hope all have a Happy Thanksgiving and be careful...the shopping is going to be horrendous tomorrow.

It's starting to look like a landslide in the poll. After doing this video today, I'm ready to say that Jonathon really does look a lot like Heather. That is a good thing though. I just hope he doesn't act like her:)

I've been wanting to get this video up for the past couple weeks. A couple computer crashes later (and no saves) I finally got it done! Heather mentioned that there didn't seem to be very many pictures or videos of us. I asked her, "Why would there be when Ma-maw (Jonathon's great grandmother) was the one always holding him?" So this video is for you and Pa-paw!

As you can tell, Jonathon is growing and growing FAST! He's fitting nicely into his University of Kentucky outfit. He looks sharp in Kentucky Blue!

What a smileThis smile could warm anyone's heart! Whenever he gives me a look like this, I think of how lucky we are. The more he grows and changes, the more we bond. When we see him in an outfit that he has already grown out of, we think that he is getting too big, too soon.

For me, I am really coming into the fatherhood thing now. I have to admit that I started off slowly. I tried to take care of Heather as much as possible but she had the brunt of the feedings. Now that we both are back to work, I have started to share in the feedings more and I have learned that this is a vital bonding time. When it's three in the morning and your little boy has the most content look on his face...it is so worth it!

I have new pictures of Jonathon up. Seeing his personality starting to show up is amazing.

Finding time to blog when you have a newborn really has become quite the challenge. We think we are getting into a routine then things change and we try again.

Jonathon has been to visit Jennifer (our day care provider) twice now. I think it was hard for Heather but I believe the hard part is really going to come when she returns to work full time. Big news of today is he slept through the night last night! He went to bed at 9pm or so and slept till 4am. That is a first we hope that keeps on continuing.

Overall, we are adjusting nicely to parenthood. We have been so blessed with a boy that is very healthy and he is such a joy. We are enjoying every moment and getting as many pictures and video footage as possible. Later in the week I'll share some of the footage. I have a few surprises in the next week or two so stay posted. It'll take a little work to get it together, but it will be worth it.

What a team
